WHY WE SING

Music has the power to create movement where despair leaves us frozen. It offers hope, heals division, and weaves a connective thread of shared humanity that cannot be denied. Through music, we find unity, within political movements and across ideological divides.

Our journey began with a simple vision: playing folksy renditions of empowering anthems by iconic female artists, imagining a room full of community voices singing along. But when Trump was re-elected, our purpose deepened. In that moment, we knew we had to use our voices not just to entertain, but to resist. Our transformation into a social protest band took shape, and our first live performance took place on April 19, 2025, at a peaceful protest outside the Eureka Courthouse.

We sing songs from the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War era, and are continuing the tradition of those movements by writing our own original songs inspired by our refusal to accept this administration’s disregard for the constitution and human rights. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the younger generation, and with our parents and grandparents who marched before us, many of whom continue to stand beside us today. Thanks to the courage of the people in the resistance movements that came before us, we’ve seen what’s possible. And we’re not stopping—now or ever.

For the love of our country, our planet, and every person who calls it home, we sing as an act of resistance.
One step at a time. One song at a time.
